This research is part of a study to understand how to help people and families who have difficulty with sexual behavior towards children.
Who is eligible?
Adults between the ages of 18 and 65 who:
- Have been married to or lived with a spouse or partner who has sexually abused one or more children living in the home, or
- Is the parent of a child who has sexually abused one or more children living in the home.
How will research be conducted?
Should you choose to volunteer, the research involves participating in one 90-minute interview sharing your
thoughts and opinions in your own words. The confidential interviews will cover basic demographics,
circumstances surrounding any decision to get help, your life situation at the time the abuse was occurring, your perspective on seeking help, good ways to communicate with people like you, what someone might have said or done that might have made a difference, and your reaction to a helpline. Participants will receive a
$20 gift certificate to Target Stores.
How can I learn more about volunteering?
Complete information about the study will be provided before you participate, and any questions you may have about the research will be answered.
